Retaining Wall Plants

Retaining Wall PlantsWhat can I plant vines over a retaining wall that bloom all summer in zone 7?

I want to cover a retaining wall 4 feet with vines that flower color all or part of the summer. I live in the Pacific Northwest, Zone 6-7. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A small pink rose rampant called "Pinkie" or more "new dawn" would be great for the climate. You can also grow wild thyme which will give you a sea of red flowers cascade. Huvi has beautiful purple clematis. My favorite (which I'd love to grow but can not because it's too hot here) is Wisteria Amethyst Falls. The most adorable flower, Creeping Flox, flower Apple breathtaking (in fact, one of flox are beautiful). In the first link I provided.

The other answer was also helpful. I neglected to mention that I was looking for ideas for perennials, but you gave me good ideas for annuals that I can hold out until the perennials take over. Thank you. Report Abuse

Lobelia Cascade, the sweet potato vine, honeysuckle, Wandering Jew, passion purple, fuchsia, the list is endless. success
