Propane Bottles

Propane BottlesMy review of the Coleman Blackcat Catalytic Propane

Well, I bought a Coleman Blackcat heater catalyst to use in my ice fishing shelter portable. It is a four person so I think the Coleman Blackcat would "take over" within the ice and keep alittle hot. I knew he would not make it a reality in the warm interior, just a pleasure to stop you from getting cold. Firstly, I wish he was small and compact to fit in my tackle box. It runs on small propane Coleman and lasts until 7 pm on a bottle. I used it on two fishing trips on a bottle for about six hours in total. It is using up all the time as well.

The outdoor temperature for the two time I used it was about -5 ° C, which is cold in January, but it is much colder in January than in Manitoba that. I'm glad it was not -25 ° C! Thus, after setting up the portable ice shelter, me and my wife started to fish. After sitting inside for about two hours, we began to get cold. So I pulled the Blackcat and has raised up. The max setting 3000 BTU cranks so I left the top all the time. After about 30 minutes, it warms the inside, but not hot enough to keep us warm and comfortable. With this device you can move very easily and we had to do everything around us to feel the little warmth it gave off. It warms the hands and feet in time but the shelter was still alittle to cool the inside of my comfort zone.

On cold days this unit is not to keep an ice shelter portable hot, it's my opinion. I now use this device for the camping season. Hopefully it will hold a tent warm on a chilly night camping this year. Do not get me wrong, it's a good little unit, but can not resist when I used ice fishing. I bought a heater propane than I'll try soon and give an opinion about the future. Also remember to keep the area of your broken as you need fresh oxygen at all times. In my shelter, I have a roof vent and kept the door unzipped alittle to let the air inside at any time.
