How to install a platform of stones? I would like to add to my existing deck with 16 "x16" pavers.
Your first question stated: "the bridge", so you probably do not get all the answers. To add to your patio is not that difficult.
First level of the surface - dig down 6 inches or so into the ground next to your existing patio in the size and shape you want. Make sure it's pretty flat, no need to be perfect yet. Place some type of "framework" to hold the soil and contain the stone to the next step - 2x4's great work or rubber edges used in gardening.
Second use of crushed stone or stone dust base. You'll need about 3 or 4 inches, depending on the frost in your area, check local home improvement store. Try to do what the level as possible. For drainage, you may want not a little far from the old court.
Third place your pavers, their snug and tight to each other.
use sand fourth - finally, dump small piles on the patio and sweep with a broom to push around. This move into the small cracks between the stones and help discourage the growth of weeds.
Good luck! We have done 4 so far, not so difficult, takes time. Digging and moving the equipment is the hardest part. You'll find step-by-step booklets to store also the map really.
