Light Guide Panel

Light Guide Panellight guides to the Control Panel of the lighting?

Require Web pages with simple explanations / theory of light guides so that I can design my own moldings.

Light guides use the differences in refractive index materials and critical refraction. This is the angle at which the light will bounce back within a transparent object instead of passing through. As light passes from one material (eg air) into another material (eg Plexiglas) the angle of refraction changes. At a critical angle the light will bounce back in the Plexiglas instead of going out on the sides until it reaches the end.
Therefore there is a critical turning radius of optical fibers. If you lean too much fiber, the light output side of the fiber and be absorbed by the coating instead of traveling along the fiber.
