Large Retaining Wall Blocks

Large Retaining Wall BlocksHow can you build a retaining wall block?

I ordered 4 tons of 2-3 blocks up to be delivered this weekend. I'm building a retaining wall a high rock and lawn grass on top of blocks and a step toward a sandy beach. What should I consider? Do I need to line the back side of the wall with landscape fabric or something? Should I put any base coat down first? Grass is low at this time.

Separate larger blocks and use them for the baseline. Bury them in the soil of 50% or slightly more. Then do the next row.

When using a fabric behind the wall, the ground will push him out and you see the bulge in your fabric blocks. The fabric will also tend to retain water behind the wall will collapse more likely. I do not recommend the use of tissue. Do your best to meet the rocks perfectly. Set each one in, he turns around to find the best solution, and if you are lacking more than 4 "or so, take it out and get a different block. You will naturally get a lot, relatively, soil ahead by through the wall in the early years. It will then find a happy place and will not seep through so much. Pack the soil down as best you can while you're building it.

Boulder walls require a reduction of 25% "pulp", which means that the angle or slope to them. The only thing holding up a block wall that gravity and friction, unlike a concrete block retaining wall that has "lips" at the rear of the block to give him strength so they need lots of lean to them.

Just consider that the land on the side lawn erode the differences between rocks ........ you can fill these gaps with many small rocks ....... or if u are in a hot climate .. few bags of cement mixed before

You may want a mini sledge and chisel to shape irregularities on the rocks. remove the rug from under the rocks will help to put them level with a little digging. landscape fabric will help keep dust from coming through the cracks.
