Garden Hose Timer I want the best garden hose timer? I had a timer Melnor Garden hose that runs on a 9 volt battery that lasted 2 years. It manages flexible and can water up to three times daily for up to 180 minutes each time. I have a few of those I bought at Home Depot made by Toro. Similar in design to what you have. It looks like a gray box with two buttons on it. One adjusts the frequency of watering and the other sets of duration. About $ 30 if I remember correctly. The oldest I have is about 5 years. I use to control the irrigation in my greenhouse to have a good workout throughout the year. The only time I had a problem with was when a spider got into one and made a nest that clogged valves. Otherwise, no problem. Posted on May 5, 2010.
