Build A Picnic Table

Build A Picnic TableWhat is the best way to build a picnic table?

I want to build picnic tables for the elderly. I need a table that is easy to get in and out of. I intend to build and do not buy in a store. Any thoughts on how I build?

I do this for my Eagle Project, I seek people to help me up the tables and carry.

Hmmm - picnic tables old "probably should not have attached benches - while the old can sit in their lawn chair or a wheelchair may be placed at the table.

The table itself is quite simple - run and get one and measure it. you will usually find about 30 "height - 24" something large and 72 "long - like that. So you can buy cut 12 feet 2x6 - the two and you have the stage to the summit.

So ... you take both 2x6 and you made a big X on them - on top of X would be 28 1 / 2 "from the ground - you can even glue and nail or screw together where the X crosses. These take your table at each end .

So ... you both X and then on top of X, you run a straight piece of 2x6 across - this will keep the deck table. You're probably 22 "long ... it nails - paste - Bolt it - it allows a structure incredibly strong.

Then, you bridge this thing - putting your 2x6 on each side - let the paste is a 2x6 "on the side - and then the space of 2x6 other consistently on top. When you put a 2x6 on top , true thickness is 1 1 / 2 "- and give you the height of 30 inches.

And put this thing together, the best thing are the new screw torque - ask the timber company - they kind of expensive, but they work so good - you spin with a little torque on your drill. Quick and easy and take as the grizzly.

And if you want to write me, I can make a drawing of it and send it. But you can usually design all this simply by watching someone else work.

Good luck.

From the ground up?

Building tables with no seat enclosed. They use their own lawn chairs, a bench or individual. The type A Framework bench is hard to get people with mobility problems. The table must be at least 30 inches to make it wheelchair accessible.

Something like that would work -

BTW: Get down, Home Depot or a local contractor, to give the wood.
