Backyard Swings

Backyard SwingsWhat type of wood should I use to build a backyard swing, play house for my children?

I want to build simple porch with two swings, a slide and a cabin for my young children. I'm not crazy about using normal pressure treated wood because we are concerned with arsenic.

Cedar or redwood.

You can find arsenic-free pressure treated wood today. If you have any concerns, I agree with either cedar or redwood. Both hold pretty well to be exposed to the elements. You can always part of treated wood (materials that go into the ground, etc.) and construction of the space theater with any type of wood you want. Be sure to "treat" untreated wood with some type of sealant to prevent rot. It is good that you're the swing you're set. The pre-made sets are so expensive, and sometimes not well done.

Good luck with your project!

CQI offers all the advantages of strength and the cost of pine, with no concern aresenic chemicals. For building kits for a set of professional quality, www.detailedplay.com is the way to go.
